The goal for the first stage of the Saint Lucy Foundation consisted of procuring the most necessary ophthalmological surgical instruments. We also wanted to further promote and expand local expertise in the medical treatment of eye conditions. To do this, we recruited additional local specialists to transfer more knowledge between the local doctors and us. In 2018/2019, more than 7,000 patients were examined, professionally treated, equipped with visual aids, operated on and cared for in the Saint Lucy Foundation Eye Department. Over these two years, we reached the milestones we set to achieve a lasting impact, particularly for the patients treated.
