Tanzania 2017
mission report
The cooperation of the organisation Afrika Amini Alama turned one of the major wishes of those responsible for the Saint Lucy Foundation into a reality . We were finally able to launch a project on the African continent.
In Momella, Tanzania, a small village at the foot of Mount Meru with views of Kilimanjaro, our first step was to set up our own eye clinic. The cornerstone for this commitment was a short research project involving almost 250 subjects, which aimed to record the extent of prevailing eye conditions. After evaluating all these data points, we were convinced that the region’s population urgently needed local eye treatments. This was the first time that we settled on a project.
